I'm going to Oahu or O‘ahu, Hawaii at the end of the month on a mileage run. However, Im on a tight budget being I've had some unexpected expenses come up, as well it's a last minute trip. I've reached out to clients, family, friends and the internet for FREE or nearly free things to do on the island to cut back on the cost. Below is my top 8 list, and I will update it when I return!


 

There are many free or nearly things to do while on vacation in Oahu, Hawaii, such as:

  1. Visit Waikiki Beach: This iconic beach is a must-see for any visitor to Oahu. It's free to enjoy the sun, sand, and surf.

  2. Hike Diamond Head: This popular hike offers stunning views of the island and the Pacific Ocean. Entrance fee $5 for adults and free for children.

  3. Visit the Honolulu Museum of Art: This museum offers free admission for children and residents. Go City Pass: Receive free admission when you show your Go City pass. Guests at participating O’ahu hotels receive one (1) complimentary admission upon presentation of their room key.

  4. Visit Hanauma Bay: This natural bay is home to a variety of marine life and is a popular spot for snorkeling and swimming.

  5. Visit Kailua Beach Park: This beautiful beach is perfect for swimming, kayaking, and windsurfing.

  6. Visit the Byodo-In Temple: This Buddhist temple is a replica of a 900-year-old temple in Japan and is located in the valley of the Ko'olau Mountains. General Admission $5.00

  7. Visit the North Shore of Oahu: The North Shore is known for its beautiful beaches, surf spots and scenic drives.

  8. Visit the Dole Plantation: The Dole Plantation is a popular tourist attraction that provides an opportunity to learn about the history of pineapple cultivation in Hawaii and to sample the delicious pineapple. Ticket for different tours start at $7.75 per person.
